"Traditional turn-based combat," as Fargo calls it, bases turns on varying factors, creating battles in which different characters attacked at different times, often alternating between opposing sides. But in The Bard's Tale IV, teams attack all at once. This increases the pace of the combat, and allows for a different set of tactics than the traditional system might allow.

"There will be plenty of combat diversity and depth," Fargo said. "You look at something like Hearthstone, for example. It's sort of that going back-and-forth process, and you see the complexity and detail and strategy and nuance that can happen. It's really an amazing system. I love those modern influences. I took a lot away from that, and see things we need to do with our combat system."

J'ai passé des tonnes d'heures sur cette série sur amstradCPC, je me souviens avec un pote on comparait nos cartes faites à la main le midi à l'école.
Avec les retours réussis de dungeons crawlers récemment, j'ai envie d'y croire.

The Bard's Tale, un des premiers jeux que j'ai acheté sur Apple II, et qui m'a fait passer un nombre d'heures incalculable devant l'écran monochrome. Et comme beaucoup, j'ai fait mes cartes sur ces satanées feuilles à petits carreaux.

Tout ça pour dire que je suis impatient que la campagne commence, et j'espère bien que l'objectif sera atteint.

D'ailleurs à propos d'Inxile, le prochain KS, ça sera le 2 juin, pour Bard's Tale IV... Jeu qui ne m'attire pas du tout, et après le flop de Legend of Grimrock 2, je ne suis pas sûr qu'il trouveront le financement pour celui là, mais je suis quand même curieux de voir ça.

En ce qui me concerne, Bard's Tale c'est une série que je connaissais pas du tout et qui m'évoquait tout au plus un vieux truc des années 80 et que je n'aurais même pas regardé en temps normal. Là vu que ça venait d'InXile j'ai fait l'effort de regarder de quoi il s'agissait, ayant beaucoup aimé les Grimrock, je me laisserai sans doute tenter, mais c'est clair que ça ne me fait pas le même effet qu'un Wasteland/PoE/Torment qui lorgnent beaucoup côté Fallout/BG/P:T.

Après, c'est peut-être pas une mauvaise chose que maintenant qu'ils ont plutôt réussi leur premier jeu kickstarté, ils commencent à s'écarter doucement du "on va ressusciter une légende du jeu vidéo en jouant à fond sur la nostalgie" (même si ça reste une suite de vieille série). Qu'on soit déçu ou non de W2, ils ont montré qu'ils étaient sérieux, ça mérite de voir si leur jeu paraît intéressant en tant que tel, indépendamment du fait qu'on connaisse/ait envie de ressusciter le jeu dont il s'inspire.

LoG 1 est passé dans un bundle qui s'est vendu à près de 400k exemplaires, aussi... et il a été bradé pendant un bon bout de temps (là il est à 3€ sur Steam) quand le 2 est rarement descendu en-dessous de 10€. Bref, en termes de revenus générés (il faut compter aussi GoG), je suis pas sûr que le 2 ait vraiment été un échec par rapport au 1, même si dans l'absolu les chiffres de ventes ne sont pas énormes (autour du million d'€ je dirais ?).

J'avais bien aimé le jeu de 2005. Le gameplay cassait pas des briques mais la parodie du genre était réussie.

Ils sont déjà très bons niveau comm' là, cette astuce peut potentiellement faire exploser le compteur le premier jour, amenant une dynamique hypesque au KS.

Il y a sur leur forum un sneak peak des rewards qui seront demain dans le KS, ils ont apparemment prévu pas mal d'early backer tiers sur la version digitale pour booster l'amorçage (15000 exemplaires à 20$, puis 10000 à 25$, 10000 à 30$ et enfin illimité à 33$ ou 34$). Le tier à 33$ est rigolo, c'est une "absolution" pour ceux qui auraient piraté un de leurs jeux :P Sinon les physical tiers devraient commencer à 65$.

Avec 3 éditions 'boite' différentes :
-Album Box à 65$, une pochette en dans le style d'un double-vinyle (plutôt en format 45 tour) comme les 'cardboard folders' qui renfermaient les disquettes 5"1/4 des jeux d'origine. Contient le disque du jeu et le manuel.

Accessoirement, ils sont un peu plus gourmands sur les paliers d'accès ainsi que la somme demandée au fil de leurs KS.

Ne sous-estime pas le pouvoir d'achat de certaines personnes la chose bien avec les bons vieux jeux c'est que 30 ans après tu as des gars qui sont devenu bien riches et c'est mec la tu peux compter sur eux pour pledge .

Je ne suis pas sûr que les pledges à 10k$ sont tant des personnes que des boîtes (enfin, à part Notch). M'étonnerait pas par exemple qu'Obsidian ait pledgé - c'est d'ailleurs pas ce qu'ils ont promis de faire avec le "Kickin' it Forward" ?
