    Deadsiders,
    Today we’re going to install first part of the long-awaited update 0.1.8, it's a first part of previously announced updates in the future that we will continue to add in the upcoming updates.
    When we were working on this update, we'd made a huge amount of work, more than we initially planned . We managed to complete not only required tasks of integrating new mechanics and bringing new content, but also solve some of the old problems, for this we would like to give special thanks to our community and everyone actively involved in the testing

    You can see the changelog of the future update below.

    New system for client-server interaction while shooting/receiving damage by the character which should significantly improve situation with hit registration

    Events

    AirDrop – an airdrop of a valuable cargo at a point marked on the map so that you will have the opportunity to get there first, ambush someone or be ambushed yourself.



    New firearms and equipment

    - Anti-material sniper rifle - Barrett M99
    - Light machine gun – RPK- Light machine gun - HK MG36
    - Tactical assault vest with armor plates
    - Tactical helmet











    QoL

    - Added option to scope by pressing or holding RMB.
    - Option “hold” is on by default, like It was before
    - Added an ability to craft multiple items at once
    - If you have more resources than needed for one item the dialogue will appear with an ability to choose the number of it
    - Interaction with objects: moving shift-click/double-click
    - Added an option to disable HUD (Settings -> Controls -> Interface. First press will close quickslots and second other HUD elements)

    More server settings

    - PvE mode. Players can’t damage each other and differed from bots with special mark
    - Starting kit – the starting items for every respawning player
    - Added an option to set the bases lifetime
    - Added an option to forbid ability to login for players with VAC ban
    - Added an option to set the number of players in a squad (max 10)
    - Added an option to set radius of red zone which prohibits respawning near a dead body
    - Added an option to set time of the day
    - Added a welcoming message (MOTD) in a window when you enter the server
    - Fixed problem with logs saving on the servers with a long title

    Multiple balance and gameplay fixes

    - Added restrictions for spawning close to your corpse
    It works for both random and respawning at certain point. You can see the radius for these restrictions on the map marked with the red circle
    - Increased grenades damage and blast radius
    - Reduced the flying speed for grenades
    - Every grenade now stacks by 1 (You need to put them by one in your inventory and storage so you wouldn’t lose them after the update release!)
    - Top-tier weapons and equipment are no longer sold by traders. You can get them only on the missions or find at the airdrop places.
    - OTs-14 Groza now has the sight rail which you can use to mount different scopes

    Other fixes

    - Fixed: Corpse mark disappears after the first interaction with it
    - Fixed: head falling through objects (now for sure)
    - Fixed: Chat will show the information from which distance the player was killed
    - Fixed: an error when the items from device slots were ignored while searching craft components
    - Fixed: Removed an ability to reload a gun while colliding with obstacles
    - Fixed: When you throw something on the ground the area for it will be highlighted
    - Fixed: occasional crashes at certain map points
    - AI Changes: fixed players being unable to complete missions because of bots running too far from the center of it

    Update 0.1.10
    Deadsiders, our update 0.1.10 has released and it will be installed on every server from 11:00 am till 12:00 GMT (PDT 4-5 am) , because of this they might be unavailable.

    Despite the fact that this is not a major update it still contains a lot of new things.
    We’ve added new locations, events and mechanics, reworked whole medicine system, improved AI of the normal bots and added new ones.

    We’re doing everything we can to make Deadside give you positive emotions and new experience with every update. And we’ve got a lot more for you in future.







    Helicopter crash site

    New game activity: a fallen helicopter, guarded by the surviving paratroopers, who are more dangerous and aggressive than usual bots. You can get a valuable cargo as a reward if you kill them.

    New locations

    Lighthouses located in the South-West and North of the map.

    New missions

    You can find them in the agro-industrial area near the Cherny Log, military base in the north and both lighthouses.

    Medicine

    Character’s health will slowly regenerate now. The speed will depend on the levels of thirst and hunger. If at least one of the parameters is red health will not regenerate. If one of them is yellow health will regenerate, but slower.

    New items

    - Painkillers, heals you quickly, but will also decrease your thirst
    - Med-X will restore significant amount of your health, but your thirst and hunger will also decrease greatly.
    Both of these items you can find in the world, get as a reward for different missions and Med-X you can also craft yourself if you find necessary components.
    Pay attention, that if your hunger and thirst decrease to 0 then all kind of healing will be impossible.



    Equipment crafting

    Radios, flashlights and electronic locks will now appear less in the world, but you will be able to craft them yourself with electronic components, spare parts and other items. In one of the upcoming updates we will add more very useful craft options.

    Breath hold
    The left shift (default) while aiming.

    Other fixes and changes
    - Steam Family Sharing is prohibited because of the amount of abuse cases (gamebreaking exploit)
    - Added random bot encounters in some locations
    - Changes of balance, hearing and vision for bots (should be less of instant kills from shotgun, guard in watchtower will spot players from a greater distance)
    - Many masks and hat can be torn to rags
    - Vodka, moonshine and alcohol can be stacked (3 items in 1 stack)
    - Fixed armor on some Halloween masks
    - Fixed incorrect damage to the helmets from heavy weapons
    - Fixed ability to interact with items while using gestures
    - Fixed ability to use items while walking into the water
    - Fixed: in some case the amount of ammo didn’t update in the interface
    - Bases and stashes can be deleted in the Admin Panel
    - Some items can be disassembled into spare parts and electronic components

    The past year has been hard for all of us, that’s why we’d like to thank everyone who have supported us through all this time. Some of you are veterans of this project already, you’ve come a long way with us, helped us to grow and make this game better and someone came recently, bringing a fresh look and new ideas. You are not only helping Deadside develop, but also giving us strength to move forward despite the difficulties.

    This update is not only the final stage in a series of updates, but also serves as a starting point for the future ones, which are currently in a development process. We’ve got more exciting content and events waiting for you next year, with the first portion already on the way.

    Update 0.1.11

    Our target for this update was to make gameplay more intense. Not only we added new activities and events, but also expanded the map in a way, that wouldn’t reduce the concentration of players, creating new hotspots.

    Map changes
    Added new multi-level location – military bunker.





    Weapon with camouflage
    Bunker has locked boxes that can be opened only with a key, dropped from military NPCs with a certain probability. This box contains a weapon with camo and other valuable items that are well known to you.



    Missions
    - Added a new mission in the bunker
    - Added new random encounters in various locations around the world
    - During holiday event you can find New Year themed hats
    - Added wandering traders who sell a more valuable equipment

    Other economic changes
    - Increased chances to get a reward from hard and epic missions
    - Traders no longer sell flashlights and walkie-talkies but they buy it for higher price

    Inventory
    - Fixed lags with moving items inside your inventory

    Improving the quality of life:
    - Pick up item – Shift+Click

    AI
    Improvements to the military bots AI

    - Reduced negative effect from painkillers and Med-X

    - Fixed absent or incorrect translations

    Boats

    The first transport added to the game is swamp boats.
    Boats can be found along the river/sea side and can carry 5 people, including the driver. The total number of boats on the server for simultaneous use is limited to 10 units. Currently it is impossible to keep the boat at the base, it disappears after 30 minutes if there are no players nearby.

    Boats have durability and can be repaired with a " blowtorch"-a new item in the game that can be found in the world. Boats consume fuel, which you can replenish with fuel canisters found in the world.



    Level Design.

    Map expansion: the islands to the east of the northern tip of the peninsula, with a seaport, oil depot, warehouses, and a military facility, are now accessible.
    Hard and epic missions as well as encounters are available in the new locations.
    The island to the west of the northern tip of the peninsula is now accessible and available for base building.
    New river has been added, connecting the central lake with the east coast of the peninsula.
    Industrial location in the Beregovoy area was expanded, and a difficult mission has been added there.
    Destroyed churches and graveyards in Krasnoye in the north of the village and in Krivets in the south-east were added.
    An event on a small island in the sea between Zalesny and Bochky was added (helicopter crash site).



    Water Sources

    Added water wells in the settlements.
    Wells can either have water or be empty. Each restart of the server changes the active and inactive wells.
    Added plastic bottles of different capacity for water intake.
    Soda replenishes 20 points of hydration, 5 points of food and 3 of health.
    Changed the capacity of the water collector - 300 points.
    The water collector filling speed is reduced twice.
    Water consumption timings increased.



    Economic Changes

    The safe zone trader assortment has been expanded, high level weapons and gear have been returned, as well as provisions.
    All buy and sell prices of all traders have been changed.
    The assortment of wandering traders now permanently includes both weapons and equipment.
    Changed loot in Airdrop - reduced in value.
    Changed mission rewards.

    Building and Crafting

    Workbench and water collector can now be destroyed during a raid by an explosion
    The number of available workbenches at the base is now limited to one.
    Stack of logs increased from 4 to 10.
    Disabled the ability to disassemble walkie-talkies into components.
    Changed explosives recipe.
    Explosives, tripwires and respawn beacons can be disassembled into components with pliers.
    Changed color and translucency level of the placeholder.
    Added ability to collect bush sticks with knife/axe.
    Campfire recipe now requires only bush sticks. Logs can be used optionally (burning time of sticks and logs differs a lot).
    Reduced log burning time.

    Campfire life time in the world is limited to 30 min.



    Inventory

    Changed the stack amount for multiple items.
    Expanded the capacity of basic outfit from two to three slots.
    In all backpacks can now be placed the main weapon: Assault-1, Typhoon-2, Stalker-3
    Removed the crate opening timer, i.e. progress bar no longer appears.



    QoL Improvements.

    Added "Earplugs" feature, this feature allows you to muffle the master sound in the game.
    Added interface scaling for 2k and 4k monitors.
    Added Windowed Fullscreen Mode option.
    Added " Stack All" function for base crates and security zone storages.
    Reduced the font of the map interface.
    The character location marker now pulses during map view.
    Improved logic and interface for player blocking/unblocking in the admin panel of private servers.



    Sound

    Adjusted, replaced or improved sounds: the environment and interaction with it, the handling of weapons, gunshots, and the effects of hitting surfaces.



    Other Changes

    Changed AR4, Fasam, MG36, Skar, RPK-mod, BB-19, and P900 recoil.
    Fixed some recoil problems on IZH-70, Berta M9, and F-57.
    Increased grenade launcher damage.
    In the kill-log, when killed by a grenade or a stretch/explosive, the distance is now calculated from the throwing person or installation site, respectively.
    The lifetime of a raid token in the world is 10 min.
    Shovel removed from starter kit and replaced by walkie-talkie.
    Removed re-spawn points in Lazurny and Yantar.

    Leurs mises à jour ont été plutôt mineures pendant des mois, mais ils ont l'air d'arriver avec quelque chose de plus conséquent pour la prochaine :

    Les mises à jour ont quand même l'air lente et montrent qu'ils sont relativement une petite équipe.

    - Ils travaillent sur les animations pour la position allongée
    - Ils ont retiré la fatigue lorsqu'on tente de viser après avoir courru
    - Les objets rares seront maintenant vendus par des marchands ambulants plutôt que dans les zones sûres
    - Ils finalisent le tutoriel du jeu
    - La carte du monde sera quadrillée
    - Ils vont rendre l'IA plus bête afin qu'elle évite de one shot les joueurs derrière des buissons
    - Une nouvelle ville va être ajoutée

    Ils prévoient leur grosse mise à jour pour la fin de l'année.

    Parce qu'il existe heureusement des jeux de survie qui ne vivent pas que sur la hype, les devs viennent de sortir la grande ville sur leur serveur de test. Dans une autre mise à jour, ils étendront la région autour de la ville et ajouteront plus de points d'intérêt.

    J'ai pu essayer la nouvelle ville sur les serveurs de test hier et c'est un peu effrayant de se balader dedans, même si je n'ai croisé personne près des grands bâtiments. D'ailleurs, je n'ai pas trouvé l'entrée du seul grand bâtiment que j'ai approché, mais j'espère qu'il y a des intérieurs.

    Ça vient aussi avec l'extension de la carte dans le sud-ouest, mais la région n'est pas encore peuplée parce qu'ils travaillent dessus. Il y a par contre des événements qui peuvent apparaitre comme le crash d'un hélicoptère.

    Pour avoir rejoué un peu, du coup, j'aime quand même bien le côté gestion de personnage qui est bien plus simplifié que sur SCUM. La faim et la soif descendent plutôt lentement et on n'a pas de compétences à monter.

    Là où je trouve que Deadside devient intéressant c'est sur les ennemis qui apparaissent dynamiquement, avec des camps d'ennemis de différents niveaux à aller nettoyer, ou des convois d'ennemis qu'on peut croiser sur la route. Ils ont aussi ajouté divers événements aléatoires que je n'ai pas pu trop essayer encore, mais ça inclut le crash d'hélicoptère à aller vérifier.

    L'IA a un peu été changée pour ne plus faire de pas de côté en tirant. Je trouve qu'elle a quand même un peu trop tendance à tirer de loin dès qu'elle nous a repéré, même si elle a peu de chance de toucher. J'ai pu dégommer tout un camp au Mosin parce que la plupart des ennemis restaient très loin de moi, même si quelques uns ont essayé de me contourner en avançant. Par contre, après avoir nettoyé le camp, j'avais encore l'aggro d'IA qui était à plus de 600 ou 800 m, de l'autre côté d'une rivière. Là encore, ils n'avaient aucune chance de toucher.

    Je n'ai pas pu me faire une idée de l'économie parce qu'on apparait full stuff sur les serveurs de test, mais j'aimais bien le côté payant des missions et du loot quand j'avais essayé ils y a quelques années.
