We're still paying to keep Dirty Bomb servers online more than two years after the game stopped generating any revenue and I think that shows we didn't want to let DB go. Even though it didn't reach the heights we expected it's still fully playable today and costing us money to keep it that way.
Dirty Bomb was also a new experience for us as it was our first self-published game (after Nexon days). It was also a passion-project on an old engine that a small number of us worked on while the studio paid the bills with most of our devs focusing on Batman/Gears of War/Halo.
We've learnt a hell of a lot from our mistakes with Dirty Bomb and personally I'm excited about using those learnings in our future games.
