    Hello les canards,

    Vu sur la news de Nofrag, BIOS est un Racing FPS créé par un des membres de Nofrag. Le jeu est dispo en early accès sur Steam pour une quinzaine d'euros.

    Le jeu consiste à finir un niveau le plus rapidement possible. Malheureusement, plusieurs obstacles viennent nous gêner la route (tourelles automatique principalement).

    J'aime bien le concept et en plus c'est jolie tout pleins.

    C'est vrai que c'est pas moche, par contre trop reuch pour moi pour une early sur un jeu de ce type, mais pourquoi pas quand le jeu sera finish.
    Les coms nofrag pour améliorer le jeu semblent pas mal pertinents (pour ce que j'en ai vu sur les vidéos).

    Je ne sais pas si 16 € est vraiment cher pour ce que c'est. Je verrais ça ce soir si je suis motivé pour y jouer. Mais bon, si le jeu s'enrichit à la longue, je trouve même que vendre le jeu 17 €, c'est vraiment pas cher. A voir quand même la durée de vie et surtout la rejouabilité.

    Bon, j'y ai joué une vingtaine de minutes. L'early access propose 8 niveaux. Y a pas mal de challenge. Enfin d'un côté, ça fait un moment que je n'ai pas joué à un FPS au clavier/souris. Le feeling est en tout cas très bon. La vitesse de course du perso est très bon. L'arme a du sacrée punch.

    Par contre, j'ai eu droit à quelques crash aléatoire lors du chargement des niveaux.

    Avant de voir la vidéo, je m'attendais à un truc dans la lignée de Mirror's Edge, beaucoup plus basé sur de la course que sur le tir.
    Du coup là, c'est plus un gameplay de FPS classique, où on contrôle un mec qui ne sait que sprinter et tirer. Je suis déçu

    Il y a eu des suggestions pour ajouter du parkour, mais ça demandait trop de ressources pour du Early Access.
    J'ai pu jouer d'avantage ces temps ci, j'aime bien même s'il a besoin de pas mal de truc pour le rendre très intéressant.

    Avant de voir la vidéo, je m'attendais à un truc dans la lignée de Mirror's Edge, beaucoup plus basé sur de la course que sur le tir.

    Une grosse mise à jour de 2,6 Go vient d'être mis en ligne. Au dernière nouvelle, on devrait avoir de nouvelles armes, de nouveaux niveaux et d'autres trucs.

    Voici le changelog de ce gros patch/

    GAMEPLAY

    Our main intention with this update is:
    - To make it easier to finish a map
    - It is now harder to master and even harder to rush by avoiding most fights.
    - Make the fight/encounters more nervous

    How does this translate:
    HEALTH REGEN (NEW)
    Normal Difficulty mode: you regain 1 Hit Point (HP) per Second
    Hard: 0.6 HP per Second
    Very Hard: 0.3 HP per Second
    Extreme Difficulty: 0 HP per second

    Note: Regen is off when you take damage and there is an activation delay (triggered after the last received damage)
    HEALTH BONUS (NEW)
    Each time you destroy an enemy, you get 5 HP (capped to 100)
    This is true in all difficulty modes.
    If you're halfway the map and you only have 10 HP left now you still have a chance to make a comeback if you're playing very well.
    ENCOUNTERS
    - All enemies have been reworked and some turrets are now MUCH more aggressive.
    - Lasers are now causing more damage.
    MOVEMENT
    - You now move faster while aiming (iron sight)
    - New settings and tweaks available for controllers in the option menu
    OTHERS
    - 1 new weapon: AK74 (available in half a dozen challenges)
    - Hit Indicator (useful in iron sight for mid/long target)

    CHALLENGES

    - All challenges have been renamed. Names are now more in line with our technological theme.
    - All challenges have been reworked to support our new gameplay intentions
    - One completely new environment (visible in challenges: "ABORT, RETRY, FAIL ?" and "127.0.0.1"
    - Some challenges have been temporarily removed (Gamma Normal, Hard and Very Hard). They will be back soon.
    - Half a dozen new challenges for a current total of 24 challenges

    INTERFACE (UI + HUD)

    - MENUS reworked to support our long term intentions (technology theme)
    - UI ingame now less flat (helmet shaped) still highly WIP
    - "LOW HEALTH" indicator when you reach a threshold (currently at 30 HP)
    - Upcoming RUSH mode is now called ANOMALY mode (Placeholders in the menu have been changed accordingly)

    ENGINE

    - Move from Unreal Engine 4.7.6 to Unreal Engine 4.8.1
    - Various optimization for better framerate and stability

    LAST NOTE:
    We're planning a new update which will impact player movement and therefore we will reset the leaderboards for all challenges.
    This update is expected in few weeks from now, we'll keep you updated here.

    Sinon j'ai testé rapidement, et les maps ont changé radicalement. C'est devenu plus difficile, plus long. Ca reste toujours aussi plaisant à jouer.

    Une mise à jour de 2,7 Go est sortie cette nuit. Nous avons de nouvelles maps, 1 nouveau mode de jeu (Anomaly).
    Le mode Anomaly rajoute des zombies par pacquet. Mais le concept du jeu reste le même. Finir le niveau le plus rapidement possible.

    HIGHLIGHTS:

    CHANGELOG

    ANOMALY:

    Anomaly use the same sets of rules than Strike but introduce a new threat: ZOMBIES !
    The BIOS backstory allowing us to play with any environment and types of threats, we thought it would be fun to play with Zombies and see how it goes. We liked the result enough to release it and see what's your reaction about it.
    The mode is experimental and therefore it would be really helpful if you could give us feedback on what you liked/disliked about it.
    You can launch Anomaly directly from the main menu.

    MAPS & ENVIRONMENTS:

    We've retired some maps, some others are in maintenance mode and we introduce new maps and environments.
    In a nutshell: We've retired 8 maps (4 once for all and + 4 which will be back in an upcoming update) and introduce 4 new maps (featuring 2 new environments)

    The maps retired (once for all) in STRIKE Mode are:
    - "Base_address_register" (Normal Difficulty mode)
    - "FFFF_FFF0h" (Normal difficulty mode).
    - "YOU DON'T EXIST. GO AWAY" (Hard Difficulty mode).
    - "3.11" (Very Hard Difficulty mode).

    The maps that move into maintenance mode in STRIKE are:
    - "STARTUP SCREEN" (Normal Difficulty mode)
    - "BAD SECTORS" (Hard Difficulty mode)
    - "8087" (Very Hard Difficulty Mode)
    - "404" (Very Hard Difficulty Mode)

    The new maps are:

    STRIKE:
    - "Chipset Initialization" in (Normal Difficulty mode)

    ANOMALY:
    - "Creeper" (Normal Difficulty mode)
    - "MyDoom" (Hard Difficulty mode)
    - "Stuxnet" (Very Hard Difficulty mode)

    The new total is 24 maps (21 in Strike and 3 in Anomaly).


    ACHIEVEMENTS:

    5 New Achievements:
    - 10 Zombie Headshots
    - 50 Zombie Kills
    - 100 Zombie Kills
    - 500 Zombie Kills
    - 1000 Zombie Kills

    CHANGES/ENHANCEMENTS:

    - Default Anti-Aliasing is now set to FXAA (was previously Temporal AA). Changes is motivated by rendering bug.
    - If you point your mouse on a flag in the leaderboards, you can now get the name of the country. This allow you to identify the country of origin of each BIOS Runner more easily.
    - Explosion for Humanoid AI is now more spectacular
    - Main Menu has been updated to accommodate the new Anomaly Mode.


    BUGS FIXES:

    - Laser targeting systems used by the sniper turrets are now behaving in a more elegant -but still deadly- fashion. Thanks to Plotinus for reporting the issue.
    - Fixed a bug which affected the way Units were being calculated. The fix allow us to retroactively gives you the Units you missed. In other words, expect your Units counter to jump and you might get achievements in the process (if you hit some thresholds). Thanks to Klooger and other fellow BIOS Runners for pointing this out.
    - Fixed Exploits in some maps allowing you to jump out of the race. Thanks to Dinjoralo.

    ENGINE VERSION:

    The game now use Unreal Engine 4.9.1 which means we have a first experimental DirectX 12 Supports. It is not ready for prime time yet but implementation has started thanks to Microsoft and Epic works.

    Also lot of changes under the hood in preparation for an upcoming big update..
