ANOMALY:
Anomaly use the same sets of rules than Strike but introduce a new threat: ZOMBIES !
The BIOS backstory allowing us to play with any environment and types of threats, we thought it would be fun to play with Zombies and see how it goes. We liked the result enough to release it and see what's your reaction about it.
The mode is experimental and therefore it would be really helpful if you could give us feedback on what you liked/disliked about it.
You can launch Anomaly directly from the main menu.
MAPS & ENVIRONMENTS:
We've retired some maps, some others are in maintenance mode and we introduce new maps and environments.
In a nutshell: We've retired 8 maps (4 once for all and + 4 which will be back in an upcoming update) and introduce 4 new maps (featuring 2 new environments)
The maps retired (once for all) in STRIKE Mode are:
- "Base_address_register" (Normal Difficulty mode)
- "FFFF_FFF0h" (Normal difficulty mode).
- "YOU DON'T EXIST. GO AWAY" (Hard Difficulty mode).
- "3.11" (Very Hard Difficulty mode).
The maps that move into maintenance mode in STRIKE are:
- "STARTUP SCREEN" (Normal Difficulty mode)
- "BAD SECTORS" (Hard Difficulty mode)
- "8087" (Very Hard Difficulty Mode)
- "404" (Very Hard Difficulty Mode)
The new maps are:
STRIKE:
- "Chipset Initialization" in (Normal Difficulty mode)
ANOMALY:
- "Creeper" (Normal Difficulty mode)
- "MyDoom" (Hard Difficulty mode)
- "Stuxnet" (Very Hard Difficulty mode)
The new total is 24 maps (21 in Strike and 3 in Anomaly).
ACHIEVEMENTS:
5 New Achievements:
- 10 Zombie Headshots
- 50 Zombie Kills
- 100 Zombie Kills
- 500 Zombie Kills
- 1000 Zombie Kills
CHANGES/ENHANCEMENTS:
- Default Anti-Aliasing is now set to FXAA (was previously Temporal AA). Changes is motivated by rendering bug.
- If you point your mouse on a flag in the leaderboards, you can now get the name of the country. This allow you to identify the country of origin of each BIOS Runner more easily.
- Explosion for Humanoid AI is now more spectacular
- Main Menu has been updated to accommodate the new Anomaly Mode.
BUGS FIXES:
- Laser targeting systems used by the sniper turrets are now behaving in a more elegant -but still deadly- fashion. Thanks to Plotinus for reporting the issue.
- Fixed a bug which affected the way Units were being calculated. The fix allow us to retroactively gives you the Units you missed. In other words, expect your Units counter to jump and you might get achievements in the process (if you hit some thresholds). Thanks to Klooger and other fellow BIOS Runners for pointing this out.
- Fixed Exploits in some maps allowing you to jump out of the race. Thanks to Dinjoralo.
ENGINE VERSION:
The game now use Unreal Engine 4.9.1 which means we have a first experimental DirectX 12 Supports. It is not ready for prime time yet but implementation has started thanks to Microsoft and Epic works.
Also lot of changes under the hood in preparation for an upcoming big update..
