I guess I should also add I always run with the side off of the computer this will make your computer run cooler. Also try bumping up the voltage a TINY BIT at a time on your RAM. dont go over 2.8 or 2.9V for DDR400. Also if you are going to overclock your ram I suggest running the timing for your RAM at 3.0 instead of 2.5. I can't even overclock my ram 10 megahertz at 2.5, so I thought I should add that. Does your RAM have heat shields around the chips or just bare sticks? This makes a difference on how high you can go. AHHHH, I just looked at your detailed stats I think I know what your problem is. You need to get your HT down below 1000 MHZ, even if it is 900, look at my detailed stats, at ID number 2281957 or try clicking on this banner, Mine won't boot when I have the HT above 1000 MHZ when I overclock, even just a couple MHZ, your MB is probably different but my options for HT are auto, 1000 mhz 800 mhz 600 mhz 400 mhz and 200 mhz, I run it at 800 mhz and it puts the FSB right under 1000 mhz. Also your voltage for your cpu seems a little low, fine for stock but for overclocking I would recommend 1.375V and if your MB has it enable Over Voltage. Until next time!

I guarantee that is your problem. These processors (4000+ San Diego) will easily handle 2.9, trust me. It is your motherboard that is making your computer not boot, not the processor. Clock that Hyper Threading down below 1000 mhz and you should be fine, then you might even be able to boost your RAM where I run mine, matched with the FSB, because that is the best way to go. Unmatched RAM to FSB settings can cause lag or even become unstable, I would never recommend runnning different FSB to RAM clock settings. Also when you overclock bump the NB voltage as high as your MB will support, making sure the fan works and heatsink isn't dirty on the board, this should further stabalize the system when overclocked. Doing these things and you should be able to match my settings or get right near them. Let me know how it goes!

(Remember to take the left side of your case off if you can for max cooling)

Hi there and hi to everyone, I'm new here just used CPU-Z today a nice program to check your system and CPU. Join this forum just to as I like show my system as I looked at this forum and find really nice PC's and maybe shares comments.

    here's mine: http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=2288530

    my gaming/work system:

    MB: Asus M4A89GTD Pro/USB3
    CPU: QuadCore AMD Phenom II X4 Black Edition 965, 3479 MHz (17 x 205)
    GFX: Sapphire Radeon HD6950 2Gb
    RAM: 2x 4Gb Corsair DDR3 1600Mhz
    HDD's: 1 HDD WD 1Tb/64Mb (master) and a Maxtor 500Gb/32Mb

    Using a CM Real Power M620 modular power supply, a CM V8 CPU's cooler, inside a CM 690II Advanced tower with a Samsung SyncMaster 205 BW 20" + a LCD Samsung 24" B2440MH.

    bye, MWhitefox.

Hello, I'm brand new to overclocking and this is my first attempt. I think I have the top of the line stuff. Here is the banner from CPUZ.

Should I persue going any further or is 5151.51 good enough? I'll list the equipment if anyone wants to know it.

    Thanks,

    Winblaze (Butch Weber)

generic copper-core heatsink on a via KM266 chipset mobo. athlon xp-m 2600 cpu.

    and not even pushing it.

i'd LOVE to see what this cpu could do on a 400 mhz fsb board.

EDIT: how do i get my cpu-z data "validated" ?? END EDIT.

Why do you have 5 sticks of RAM installed? Doesn't that slow down the whole system by causing the computer to not take advantage of its quad-channel memory architecture?

Other than that, though, looks like you have a decent overclock working so far, with room to go!

    I just built my i7-3930K system: http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=2401900
I haven't been trying to do any overclocking because I bought some really cheap DDR3 1600MHz RAM that turned out to actually be 1333MHz that can overclock to 1600 with its voltage set to 1.65v. When I've got the money to upgrade my RAM and get a better cooler, I'll give overclocking a shot.

Even without heating the room up, this thing amazes me at how fast it is!

The CPU is resident under a Swiftech H20-220 Ultima XT Plus Liquid Cooling System.
    28 Celsius @ idle.
    42 Celsius @ 100% load.
Been running for over 18 months and 100% rock solid stable.
Expecting delivery tomorrow of a FX-8150 along with a Asus Sabretooth 990FX Board and 16 GB of Mushkin Blackline Frostbite RAM.
With post stats as soon as it's run in and settled a while.

Nothing too fancy. Haven't overclocked with it too much yet. Right now everything is stock speed. Just gonna post what you can't see in the report and a little more info about what you can. Coolermaster HAF 912 Case, Corsair Hydro Series H60 Water Cooler (dual fan cooled), Coolermaster 1000w Gold Series Power Supply, OCZ Octane 2.5" 128GB SATA III 2Xnm Synchronous Mode SSD, 16GB Patriot's Viper Extreme DDR3 2400 (Ran in Quad Channel), NVIDIA GTX 690 Dual GPU 4GB GDDR5 (2GB Per Core). Still working on the build. Not a bad little beast as is though. The rest of the comp. you can see from the link provided, which is the cpu-z validation file.

I installed Corsair 10600 RAM ... my validation shows it as 10700 and it's only showing 667 MHz max bandwidth. I don't know how to overclock anything but I'm considering learning how.

I'm new and don't know a lot about processors. I'm going to school now for IT to learn more about this type of stuff. Is mine pretty good? What is overclocking and can/should i do it to my processor?

I have been building my own custome PC's for almost 8 years now but only for the discount i can get from building it my self. This is my first attempts as overclocking a system.I spent alot of time, about 10 hours to be exact reading tips and watching video's on over clocking. My current specs in my brand new build:

-AMD FX-8150 Zambezi 3.6GHz (3.9GHz/4.2GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ 125W Eight Core Desktop Processor with Liquid Cooling Kit

    -ASUS M5A99X EVO AM3+ AMD 990X

    -EVGA 01G-P3-1561-KR GeForce GTX 560 Ti FPB (Fermi) 1GB 256-bit GDDR5

    -G.SKILL Sniper Series 8GB (2 x 4G 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900)

    -WD VelociRaptor WD5000HHTZ 500GB 10000 RPM 64MB

    -Thermaltake Black Widow W0319RU 850W

    http://valid.canardpc.com/2632783

Is this worth being happy about considering my build or could i go farther, my CPU under these conditions never goes over 40c. The power supply even though 850W is also alittle old i just couldnt fork out much more this black friday and working with the one i had since it was enough for this rig.

CPU-Z see's my Ram as 12800 but its 14900 any one have anyidea why?
