Just going through that Final Hours-app for iPad. Mac says in a video that the ending doesn't explain much on purpose:
'The existence of the Reapers and where they first came from, those are answers we intentionally don't want to get in to right now, we don't wanna talk about them, because sometimes leaving them open to interpertation is sometimes better.'
He says BioWare does know the details, and they had a lot of extra questions you could ask the omgbigaliensuperrobot-AI/starchild, but they decided to keep it 'high level' so we can figure it out for ourselves.
It also shows a note in which BioWare expects the fans to be 'Boy, but why did he have to die?' leading to 'Lots of speculation from everyone'. And there is something about 'End of the first matrix' and 'Brave new world'. Also 'They say bomb'. Can't figure out most of that note.
Other stuff:
- There is a deleted scene in which you see your squad die in London before entering the beam. It's quite dramatic. Garrus and Liara getting destroyed by the Reaper's laser.
- Crucible will cause 'galactic dark age'.
- The original idea (before Mass Effect 1)
was that humanity was designed as slaves for the Protheans. Which made us extra special because we were engineered to use Prothean technology, unlike the other species.
- Casey: 'Everyone is going to have a different ending to some degree based on their choices and their galactic readiness, so it wass important for me to have one final scene where everyone has the exact same experience.'
-
New Mass Effect games will take place before or during the events of Mass Effect 3, not after.
- A picture of Casey's wife which is encouraged to 'tap, then pinch and zoom'.
- Jacob Taylor survived the suicide mission in 93.3 percent of all games, Tali only 75.7.
- Multiplayer FPS stuff.
- 8 percent of the readers want a MMO, 17 percent a prequel, 66 percent want Mass Effect 4.
