Dear all,
I was wondering if I had problems with my 2x2GB RAM (lenovo T400, XP-pro 32bits) because of frequently crashes.
So I downloaded memtest86 v3.4 from the official website and I created a boot CD from the .iso image
While restarting the windows, I set in the Bios the CD reader as first.

So it boots from the CD and the blue screen appears. About 2 seconds and the windows restarts again, comes the blue screen for 2 seconds and restarts and again and again...
So I have to get out my CD to restart correcly windows.

The CD was tested with a similar machine (Lenovo T60) and it works correctly.

SO no way to test my RAM!!!

Has anyone a solution or proposition to do?

Thanks in advance,
Adel

You are on the Memtest86+ forum. Original Memtest is another software.

Please go to http://www.memtest.org and try this.

More than likely a BIOS bug. The system probably resets because memtest writes data to a section of the memory in use by the BIOS. The BIOS is supposed to mark that area as reserved in the memory map provided by the BIOS as opposed to usable, but apparently it doesn't do so. Contact the manufacturer about this.
