Hi,
I have something interesting and maybe weird for you.
Right now I'm testing MSI P7NGM-Digital, which has GeForce 9300+nForce 730i chipset (aka MCP7A - single chip). The board utilizes DDR2 slots and I have installed two DDR2-1066 modules. THe chipset officialy supports max. DDR2-800, so it is set this way, POST reports DDR2-800 Dual Channel, but ... CPU-Z (1.48) reports it as DDR3 with weird frequencies (the MCP7A chipset supports both DDR2 and DDR3). Look at this:
